CONFESSION (The congregation is invited to kneel through the Declaration of Absolution.)
Unison: O Lord our God, we come to You as Your sons and servants, grateful for the redemption that is ours in Jesus Christ, and yet aware of our continuing need of Your grace. We confess that we have sinned against You. We have broken Your commandments. We have fallen short of Your glory. We have not loved You with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. We have not loved our neighbor as ourselves. We were born in sin and have continued to sin. We acknowledge our guilt. We rightly fall under Your curse and judgment. Blot out our transgressions, wash us from our iniquities, deliver us from bloodguiltiness. Forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Have mercy upon us, O Lord, in Jesus' name. Amen.

ABSOLUTION

Minister:  Lift up your heads and hear the good news! . . . Therefore, I declare that your sins are forgiven in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.

Congregation: Thanks be to God. Our sins are forgiven in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Minister: Therefore, stand in His presence, knowing your acceptance in the Savior. Hallelujah! The Spirit of the Lord filleth the world.

Congregation: O come, let us worship Him. Hallelujah!

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen

Congregation: It is good and right so to do.

Minister: It is very meet, right, and our bounden duty, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks unto thee, O Lord, Holy Father, Almighty, Everlasting God, who, with thine only-begotten Son, and the Holy Ghost, art one God, one Lord, in Trinity of Persons and in Unity of Substance. For that which we believe of thy glory, O Father, the same we believe of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, without any difference of inequality. Therefore with Angels and Archangels, and with all the company of heaven, we laud and magnify thy glorious Name; evermore praising thee, and saying,
Congregation: Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts, heaven and earth are full of thy glory: Glory be to thee, O Lord most High. Amen.
